I don’t think people get St Valentine’s day. Maybe I don’t either, but I think I do. I have a meaning that doesn’t translate into depressing bullshit. Which no body needs a holiday that can do that.

It’s not a day to make up for being a shitty partner the rest of the year.
It’s not about being the perfect boyfriend/girlfriend for just one day out of the year. It’s not about going and buying expensive necklaces and candy and dinners.
It’s about love, man, that’s it. Besides, love don’t cost a thing, right?
Money can’t buy me love.

For people saying it’s stupid and you should treat/be treated perfect the rest of the year anyway is ignorant. That’s impossible, no matter who you are.

Valentine’s Day is about taking aside one day to say “all our bullshit aside. Through the struggles, fights and disagreements. I still really love you and the imperfections we each have”.

It doesn’t only have to be for your special someone. Make it for your friends, family, coworkers, kids, spouse(s?), lover, neighbors… For everyone, whoever, ya know? Tell someone you love them instead of dwelling over the fact you don’t have a significant other.
The people in your life are way more important then the people who aren’t.
